Panic at the Pijjery!
Well, it’s been a manic couple of months with the refurbishment of the Pijjery’s bedroom and bathroom and the birth of Absolute Pijjery and it’s sauna. As with any refurbishment or development one has to be prepared for the unexpected!
We installed the most beautiful shower fitting in a perfectly lit bathroom with a new heated floor. However, there was something of a snag. Our ‘guinea pig’ guests discovered that they had to dance the light fantastic to catch the drips of water and… worse. If a loo was flushed or another tap turned on our guinea pigs were left naked in the shower cubicle like a very angry fish out of water. It’s OK though, a wonderful man with a mini digger and lots of knowledge came to the rescue and fit a water tank for us. The back drive is pretty poached and muddy but hey ho the land heals itself remarkably quickly so now, we wait.
There we were with a fabulous new bedroom and bathroom. We were rather pleased with everything until the next blow. The boiler didn’t like the new water pressure so we couldn’t run the heating. When does it stop? The man with the mini digger and lots of knowledge appeared yet again with advice and hey presto we have water and heating.
Onwards and upwards they say. It’s all part of life’s rich tapestry. There is always a solution to most home issues especially if you know a man with a mini digger and lots of knowledge.
The sauna and the log burner in the open barn have proved to be an enormous success, loved by our ‘Guinea pigs’ and real guests alike.
It’s been a slow start to the 2026 season with national and world economic issues and more causing people to ‘hold’. They are holding their plans, their finances and even their fuel. It’s understandable. However, we continue to maintain and improve standards in the Pijjery so that when people finally make that decision to get away, they feel value and valued! We’re here with our little oasis of peace and tranquillity and comfort whenever you’re ready!
